Xbox 360 pocket pinchers Rejoice, the 360 is now $50 dollars Cheaper!

Microsoft Lowers Price of Xbox 360 by $50

Price drop coincides with release of “Madden NFL 08” on Xbox 360, one of many titles that make up the greatest holiday lineup in video game history.

No doubt, Microsoft does have a killer lineup this Fall/Holiday Season. I can’t say I’m a big fan of Madden (the game), I think the NFL needs pulled tight over the anti-trust stretch-n-torture device and while we are at it, I wouldn’t mind Electronic Farts getting dragged into the situation as well. Madden’s first appearance on the the 360 did something with a golf ball and a garden hose which made me really really miss my Sega Football. We should all be getting pumped up for NFL 2K8 right now. Sob… Alright, so you will probably see me at Game stop picking up Madden but I might even wait for someone to turn it in and buy it on the cheap.

At any rate, this price drop was leaked by Microsoft’s distribution chain already but folks thought it might be a few more weeks. This will increase the losses Microsoft is taking in the living room, but I believe after enough people finally do buy and then start using the service, Microsoft is eventually going to start seeing profit, a lot of profit. They have in game advertising set up, they will probably have games that are ad supported soon and finally they have a robust–almost 2 decades in the making–IPTV service right around the corner. As an owner of a 360, a Wii, and a PS3, I love them all and I’m glad the competition is heating up.
